Caring for Children, Supporting Families, Strengthening Our Community.

Who We Are

We are a Community Based Childcare Centre (CBCC), a local initiative dedicated to supporting young children and families in our community. At Ntchentche CBCC, we provide a safe and caring environment where children aged 3 to 5 years can learn, play, and receive nutritious meals. Our services include early childhood education, school feeding, basic health checks and support for parents and caregivers. We are committed to giving every child a strong foundation for lifelong learning and healthy development, while also empowering families and strengthening our community.

Our Mission

To create a safe, inclusive Community Based Childcare Centre where children learn, grow, and thrive together.

Our Vision

To improve nutrition, education, and economic empowerment in rural communities through sustainable farming and childcare.

History

Ntchentche Community Based Childcare Centre (CBCC) was established in 2002 under the Chibungo Community Based Organization (CBO). In its early years, Ntchentche CBCC partnered with several organizations, including CARE Malawi from 2002 to 2008, ActionAid from 2008 to 2020 and Feed the Children from 2008 to 2015 to support early childhood development and provide essential services to young children in the community. Over the years, these partnerships helped the center grow and serve many families.

In 2025, Ntchentche Community Based Childcare Centre (CBCC) embarked on an inspiring journey of revitalisation. For years, the center struggled with aging infrastructure. Recognizing the urgent need for change, folks stepped in to help. The revitalisation project was made possible through a successful crowdfunding campaign, led by Martha Sullivan and Victor Kamwendo. Thanks to the generosity and commitment of these caring individuals and many others beyond our community, we were able to raise the funds needed to renovate the classroom. This external support has brought new life to Ntchentche CBCC, making it a brighter and safer place for our children to learn, play, and thrive. We are deeply grateful for the kindness and involvement of everyone who contributed especially Martha and Victor, whose leadership made this transformation a reality.
